Sexy Burlesque Dancing a Go-Go

It’s no secret that we at Itchy are all about the sexy side of life. So when we heard that Sheffield is now playing host to a burlesque dance class—well, we could not miss this opportunity. We thought Sheffield was better known for a few pints and a boogie down Ecclesall Road than for seductive dancing. Apparently, we were wrong. It seems that if you head down to Chapeltown Community Centre on Burncross Road, a very sultry and scorching activity is taking place—young and old Sheffield-ers are being taught how to lap dance, chair dance, and basically striptease their socks off at the Velvet Burlesque Dance Class.

So we may need to dust off our suspenders and give our spangly knickers a good stretch (yes, maybe we have put on a few pounds, but the pole dancing should kick extra weight to the curb). This class is strictly for women over eighteen years old and it’s just as well. We at Itchy don’t think it wise for children to be exposed to our super-slinky moves.

Now, for those of you more concerned among us, you can actually wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. The Velvet Burlesque website even gives the ever so necessary caution that no one will actually be nude in the classroom. Yes, we uttered a slight sigh of relief as well.

Maybe we will never become the next Dita Von Teese, but is that really the main objective? We think you should be quite happy if you manage to lure your man away from Champs Sports Bar long enough to give them a little glimpse of your newfound sexiness. And for only 5 a lesson, we think we’re onto a real sizzling winner. Oh yeah, you might want to bring a slightly naughty attitude as well.
