Hooray for Hollywood

Brummywood takes what Hollywood dishes out and lovingly serves it up in Itchy's fave Brum picture houses:

Back when it was still called 'the pictures' the UK's oldest working cinema opened, and it's still the best in the city. Showing a wider choice of flicks than your average 12-screener, this film experience has a class that you don't find all so often these days. Tickets start at four quid, or you could go the whole hog and get the 'Text A Waiter' service. Your order is delivered right to your sofa, with absinthe from a fountain top of the menu. Every settee in the place is named after a star of the silver screen, which means that Laurel and Hardy are available to hire should you need a date for the night. Opens 30 minutes before first film.

Generally, there's not much to distinguish one cinema from the next; they're soulless look-alikes with overpriced popcorn and ASBO teens too young to go anywhere else. The AMC, however, is a small cut above the rest. It's fairly clean and cheap, plus there's the chance to show off just what a sad film geek you are by identifying all the quotes in the entrance. As an added bonus, the oversized sofa seats are perfect for the boring bits in Titanic-length features.
