Odeon Cinema

When I visited the Sheffield Odeon in 1994 and tried to buy a ticket for Speed, the grouchy attendant asked me for ID so I was forced to see Forrest Gump instead. At the time I was seething but years later, I realise the grumpy old hag was trying to help me on my cinematic path. Because one Christmas when Speed came on the telly – by which time I was legally allowed to see it – I saw that it was the biggest pile of cow dung I had ever seen. If Madame Grouch was alive today I'd buy her a packet of iced gems in appreciation. Click here to buy itchySheffield, the UK's best–selling guide to what's on in Sheffield, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, and shopping.
