Real ale, real good food and real cheap –need I say more? Well, I will anyway. Out in Kelham Island – between the university and Hillsborough –, and next to its own brewery, this pub is short on space but big on charm, and a well–kept secret amongst ale addicts the world over. On a fine day the beer garden lets you soak up the rays as you whet your whistle, whilst the toilet has a curious photomontage of Sheffield's finest toilets, and as a navigational aid there's a dirty great big crucible out front. "What more do you want son?" I heard an old boy say in here once. The reply? "Nowt". Exactly.
