Swim Inn The

The latest addition to Wetherspoon's plans for world domination is this side–splitting example of punnery, named so due to its housing in what once was the Turkish Baths. Not to fear though, the average Wetherspoon's punter doesn't know his arse from his elbow, never mind his irony from his Juvenalian satire. Part of the large–scale redevelopment of this area over the last year or so, the Turkish baths had so much potential to be a really interesting project that it's hard not to feel let down by the conversion of its ground floor into yet another drab chain pub. The building's exterior is a superb example turn of the century architectural endeavour but take a step inside and you're confronted by the kind of interior design only a 'Changing Rooms' presenter would be proud of. Shameful.
