Tropical Butterfly House and Wildlife Centre

Why is a butterfly called a butterfly? Do they make butter? I don't think so. Neither do they have a particular liking for butter as far as I know. I've certainly never seen a butterfly eating butter, nor any documented footage of such an occasion. And calling it a 'fly' associates it with those nasty little things that hover around dog turds. So a butter–fly should be, if the name made any sense, a dirty big blue–bottle who gets into peoples fridges and eats their butter. Well, if you'd like to find out why a butterfly is called a butterfly then go along to this place, its full of them. Click here to buy itchySheffield, the UK's best–selling guide to what's on in Sheffield, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, and shopping.
