The Cavendish
The longest pub in Sheffield can boast mercifully short waits at the bar. Smothered with colourful student trinkets like oversized board games (it makes you feel like a hobbit, you just know Merry and Pippin love giant Jenga), and an impressive video jukebox that keeps the choons pumpin'. Inevitably, gruff bouncers come close to souring your evening before you've even set foot in the door, but once you've overcome this hurdle and settled down with your drink on one of the big leather sofas you'll have forgotten all about them.
