Skate Central
Situated above the Mecca Bingo Hall, this little leisure venue was formally the Silver Blades' ice rink. Not much has changed except the name and the fact that when you fall over, your knees don't get wet. And you do fall over a lot. The plastic panels that have been laid down in the transformation tend to stick up, creating a bit of a hazard for the unobservant skater, and the wheels in your clunky skates often get jammed, but the kids seem to love it, so who are we to spoil their fun?
