The Casbah
As a live music venue, The Casbah has a reputation for being the place to see local bands before they make it big. However, we'd say this reputation owes a lot to the Arctic Monkeys and probably the more justified reputation is that which the Casbah has for the best club atmosphere in Sheffield. Ok, so it doesn't have as many strobe lights and fancy themed floors as Embrace, and stories of myriad scrapes and scuffles in the rough streets surrounding the club are rife, but, inside, mods, rockers, skin-headed ska lovers and long haired hippies all get along at the Casbah's big love in.
