The Sheffield Ski Village
Does hurtling down a man-made slope at 60 miles an hour sound exciting? Yes, of course it does. Visit the largest artificial slope in Europe right here in (artificially) snowy Sheffield. It's hardly the Alps, but with 9 different runs, it caters for all skill levels, including novices like us. It's a bit bizarre coming from the bustling streets of the city to a tranquil dry slope where you can ski, toboggan and snowtube (we'd never heard of snowtubing either, but it's great) to your hearts content.
