Bia Hoi
Tucked away off West Street, this pretentious and outrageously decorated drinking hole is far too easily found. The interior looks like one of Laurence Llewlyn Bowen's worst ever creations. Stuffed full of giant Buddhas and other crude Thai mementos, its enough to make most Eastern Asians run a mile (coincidentally there were no oriental staff or customers, which did sum it up). The staff are generally rude and need to take some advice from Buddha himself: chill. Unless you have more money than taste, don't bother.
