Kelham Island Tavern
Tucked away among all the closed-down factories and local breweries is a pub that the locals won't tell you about. They will, however, make you feel enormously welcome should you somehow manage to find your way here. With rows of real ales, traditional ciders and even some local brews, this is the place for CAMRA virgins to dip a toe into the wonderful world of real ale. Get here in time for lunch if you can – the food is amazing. The pie we had was so good we wanted to take it into the bathroom for some serious one-to-one alone time.
