Blue Banana
Like moths to a flame, EMO kids are drawn towards neon tutus, stripey tights and eyeliner. Though creatures of habit, this magnetic pull may even tempt them into new shopping territory. Alternative streetwear store Blue Banana has brightened up the Orchard Square Shopping Centre and lures packs of shaggy-haired ones from similar stores on Devonshire Street. From stage make-up to body jewellery, PVC basques to patterned leggings; if it's out there, it's in there. Stock, especially a super kitsch gift range, is well-priced. The more hardcore products may raise the shop assistants' tattooed eyebrows but it's unlikely. Skinny jeans mandatory. Ellen Beardmore
